Today in Philosophy, we're learning about existence. We're learning about how we don't know if we actually exist or not. How we don't know if other people exist or if it's just our life that matters. He asked us the question of "how do you know you're not dreaming right now?". We all had an answer like, "well because this feels real and we know when we're dreaming."
He said that we don't actually know for sure what's real and what's not. We think we know what is reality, but we could just think that way because that's all we "know".
He then talked about how a lot of things in nature are based off of math and I am garbage at math so I just got even more confused. I understood what he was talking about with "Fibonacci's numbers" and it was really cool to understand and learn, but I kinda freaked myself out in that class.
Fibonacci's numbers are numbers that an old mathematician came up with for some reason and these numbers appear in nature and almost everything. The pattern is you start with 1 and 1 and you add the number and the one before it. For example 1 + 1 is 2 and then 1 + 2 is 3 and then 2 + 3 is 5 and 3 + 5 is 8, etc. These numbers appear in the amount of pedals on certain daisies and pine cones and a lot of other plants and natural things.
It's very interesting to think about, but a little scary at the same time.
And I suck at math.

Movie Critic
There aren't many movies that look good in my opinion. I like comedies, adventure, action or drama. I mainly watch comedies because I wanna be entertained if I watch a TV show or a movie. Horror movies aren't fun to watch, you're on the edge of your seat the entire time, it just doesn't seem fun.
My favorite movie of 2017 was not a comedy though. It was "Baby Driver". A story about a man nicknamed "Baby", who has a hearing problem, but he's an extremely good driver. He is the getaway driver for criminals that perform heists and robberies. It has a corny love story in the midst of it too, but other than that, it's very good and I highly recommend it.
Even if you don't like cars (like me) or if you're not into action movies, I still recommend seeing it because it has a good story line. I don't wanna ruin the entire movie for you, but trust me, it's worth it.
I didn't see a lot of movies in 2017, but "Baby Driver" was the most memorable. What was your favorite movie of 2017?

Late
This one kid in my philosophy class is 45 minutes every single class. I don't know how someone is constantly that late literally every class. The professor doesn't take off points for being late so there aren't any consequences, but why even take a class if you're going to be that late? The class is only 75 minutes long and he lets us out like 15 minutes early most of the time. Therefore, this kid is only in class for 15 minutes and he gets marked as present.
I'm not angry about it because to each his own, but I don't see the point in paying for a class and then getting nothing from it. Wouldn't you think that you would at least try to be on time to learn something? It's not even a boring class like math.
I'm always ridiculously early if I can be because I've always been taught to never be late. Especially when I lived on campus, I was so early to classes by like two hours because I wouldn't do anything else. Even now when I commute, I'm like an hour early to every class because I always prepare for traffic or something. Are you late or on time usually?

Just some snacks
I like most types of snacks. Chips, pretzels, basically anything at a super bowl party. My favorite snack that I could eat an entire bag of without even noticing is Quaker's rice cakes, specifically cheddar flavored, but any flavor is fantastic.
Obviously, I'm not a monster, I like the regular snack as well. You can't go wrong with tortilla chips and hummus. Basically any salty snack can go with hummus, it's weird. Pretzels, tortilla chips, potato chips, you name it, it goes great with red pepper hummus. Other hummus doesn't even compare to red pepper. The brands I usually get are called "Sabra" and "Wellsley Farms". You can't beat them. Any type of tortilla chips is fine, but I personally hate those scoop tortilla chips. I never understood the point of them, they're really jagged and pointless. Just use a regular tortilla chip, you can fit whatever you were trying to fit on the scoop, on a regular triangular one.
These should be illegal because they're addicting. You can't just have one, it's impossible, I've tried. I think it's because the flavoring is not enough to get the full flavor, but you get enough to know what it tastes like. Does that make sense? I hope so.

Pay Attention Peasants
I have Philosophy on Mondays and Wednesdays at 2 p.m. until 3:15 p.m. No one pays attention, they're mostly on their laptops or phones. I pay attention because I actually find philosophy interesting, but everyone around me is on their laptop and it's distracting because I'm a nosy person. I usually don't care because it's their choice not to pay attention, but today I was fairly close to smacking this girl's phone out of her hand.
She had really long nails and every time she used her phone, whether it be for texting or whatever else, I would hear the tick-tack sound of her nails rapidly hitting her screen. I thought I was going to have an aneurysm.
Another time, a girl next me to was just shopping online on the Forever 21 website AND she was talking about it with her friend that was sitting next to her. They weren't being sneaky about it or even remotely quiet BECAUSE I COULD HEAR EVERY WORD.
I like the professor, he's very down to earth and has little rules, but I wish he had a no technology rule so that people actually paid attention to him. It doesn't hinder my education, but it is goddamn annoying sometimes.
I would like to add that this happens every class...this is my life, it's not a difficult one, but it's annoying sometimes.

Pedal to the Metal
My first car is a 2002 ford focus. I'm not into cars in the slightest so the only thing that I looked for in a car was that it was in good condition and it was cheap. As long as it gets me from A to B, I don't care what it looks. That being said, I want an SUV in the future because I hate being low to the ground and I hate trucks.
I also would want to be able to drive friends around instead of people trying to cram into my car. I like driving, well I don't mind it.
I don't think I have the mind to be into cars. I don't understand a single thing about cars. I can change a flat tire and that's about it. Everything else I'm clueless. What was your first car?

300 Pompton 1
The communication building is such a far walk from my previous class on Thursdays that I'm often right on time and I'm usually extremely early for every class. I have a class from 2:00 - 3:15 and then I have Media Writing at 3:30. I have to put a little kick in my step just to get there on time. My first class is in the Science building. Therefore I have to walk up those stairs in the student center, then walk across the entire campus to get to the communication building.
I feel like the designer didn't have the student's feelings in mind when they decided to put the building across a busy road so that it needed a bridge to get to it.
THEN, there's no place to get food in the building, unless you count the vending machines. So, after media writing I have to walk back to the main campus to get food because I'm starving at around 5 p.m. After I get food from the main campus, I have to WALK BACK to the communication building because my last class is at 6 p.m. in the communication building.
I live a rough life and no one would know it, but now you do.

Sing a Long
I mainly listen to Hip Hop/Rap and R&B. My first favorite song is Homecoming - Kanye West off his album, "Graduation". I like the beat, it's an extremely catchy beat that I bet most people can recognize. A lot of people don't like Kanye because he comes off as cocky an arrogant, but I think he's hilarious and an amazing artist. "Graduation" is one of my favorite albums of all time.
My next favorite song is I Am The Greatest - Logic off his album, "The Incredible True Story". I love Logic, he's a great artist and a very positive person. Some people think he's corny, but he's just spreading positivity and equality. This song gets you hyped up when you hear it because of the beat.
My last favorite song is Gang Related - Logic off his album "Under Pressure". This song has a great beat and an amazing story to go with it. Logic talks about gang violence and how it affected him and his family. He also has extremely fast verses in this song. There's also a news report in the middle of the song that goes with the song's beat and I think it's genius.
