Al of their animals are up to date on on shots and have no past aggressive behavior, so if you’re worried about getting a mean animal, no worries. Shakira (yes that one) will be there at the grand opening as a friend of the owner’s. She won’t be performing, but she will be there support him and that’s very sweet.
If you go to their website and enter promo code “LCFP” you can get a 50% discount on all purchases made. Whether it’s the adoption fee or pet care, you get half off your total bill. That’s a fantastic deal! What are you still doing reading this? Go use the promo code! AGAIN that's 22 Hoco St. in Roxbury, N.J. 07876. Next Semester
This semester is coming to an end and I couldn't be more happy because I want summer. I want it to be nice out and I don't want to worry about doing homework every week. Although I have enjoyed some classes this semester, I have a couple that I'm excited for in the Fall.
I'm taking "Public Relations" and I'm excited because public relations seems like a fun and interactive job and I want to get a better sense of what it would be like. I don't have a problem with public speaking, so I didn't want to take a class on that. I figured I would take this class because we learned about public relations in this class, so I figured I'd give it a shot.
I am taking Filmmaking 1 as well and that class seems very cool because I like making videos and fun stuff like that. Hopefully the professor doesn't take the class too seriously like my professor at CCM did. I took a film class at CCM and my professor was very informative, but he was way too intense for just making videos and movies. Every little thing had to be perfect and had to be his way. I know a lot about making videos with lights and cameras, so hopefully that will transfer over to this course.
It's a sad day when some people have to stop blogging because they grow out of it or become tired of it, but here's the thing about sad days...
this one isn't one of them.

Storytime
I guess I'll preface this story with a little background. My best friend, Kevin, invited me to the Outer Banks with his family. There were 3 or 4 families going because Kevin's family is very close with each other. We were going to stay for a week in a beach house and basically just get drunk and chill. It was a fantastic week, one of the best of my life so far, but the story is not about that week, it's about why my best friend is dumb.
So the ride to North Carolina is about 8 hours and we took stops every so often for bathroom, food, etc. The beginning of the ride is great, we're all singing along to songs and having a lot of laughs. We're telling stories about school and memories from the past, it's just a good time.
We're about 4 or 5 hours into the trip and we come across this bridge. This bridge is an extremely long bridge, like 20+ miles long. A very cool sight to see because you're basically just in the middle of the ocean and you can see only water in both directions. We've been on this bridge now, for about 20 minutes or so and one of Kevin's cousins says, "Hey, like where are we right now?" (meaning like which state are we in). We all got it and were thinking about exactly which state we're in except for Kevin. Kevin answers his cousin with, "oh we're on this bridge right here." Everyone looks at kevin like this:
and starts hysterically laughing because that was the dumbest possible answer at the time. We had to open windows to get air because we were all laughing so hard and sucking up the air in the car. And even now, whenever I go over a bridge, I think about my stupid best friend.

Early Semester End?
My philosophy class ends April 30 and my spanish class ends May 4. Media Writing ends May 8 and it's my latest class. My friends all end May 16 or something like mid May. I'm not complaining for once, but I am a little confused as to why. It makes sense for my girlfriend's school because she had off for Easter holidays and we didn't, but some of my friends just have longer school years. That sucks for them. Haha.
This can't come to soon either because mentally, I'm just done with this semester. I have very little work to do across all my classes and I'm pumped to be done. The only big thing in my classes is this press kit and even that, isn't difficult. It's time consuming, but it's not difficult, it's actually kinda fun to be honest. I wish I could do Dunder Mifflin (thanks), but alas I'm doing a pet shelter so it's probably better because animals.
I have other work for classes, but like not even worth mentioning because they're so minuscule. The only class that I'm even semi worried about is Spanish and even then, I'm fine I think. If I can get a 70 on the spanish final, I'll be happy. While we're on this topic, why on earth do I need to take spanish class?????? Who's idea was that? If I was going to Mexico, sure I'll learn some spanish, but I'm in New Jersey and not to sound arrogant and one like one of those "get out of my country" kind of people, but why would I need to know spanish here.
I always end up complaining, hope you enjoyed.
I bet you're happy we end the semester early too.

Garlic Dish
I don't think I have a favorite garlic "dish" per se, but my favorite food that has garlic in it is garlic knots or garlic bread. Other foods use garlic as a little ingredient, but with bread, garlic is the main flavor. It's also fairly easy to make and inexpensive. Especially if you buy the frozen ones that are already prepared so you just pop 'em in the oven.
The weird part about garlic is that I think it's gross on like almost everything else. My mom puts it on broccoli sometimes and there's like big pieces of it still on the broccoli and I won't eat it. I just want the flavor of garlic, I'm not trying to ward off vampires. I wish I knew how to garlic and other things like it to accent foods because I just add spices until I think it's good.
Garlic powder is another thing though. I put garlic powder on pizza, burgers, hot dogs. It's so good on like every barbecue food. Specifically "Adobo" it's basically garlic powder with salt and pepper and it goes with every possible food item. If you haven't tried it, do it. It adds enough flavor to anything you put it on. Think of something that could use a little bit of flavor. You're probably wondering, "would Adobo be good on this?" The answer is yes, it would be good on that.
Do you use Adobo? What do you use it on?

Almost Done
With the school year coming to an end, I really just don't want to do anything anymore. It's getting nice out and the semester is basically over, so I just want to stay home and not come to class. Which is dangerous. It's really bad because I still have another year of school before I graduate.
I also need to find an internship that's at least semi-relevant to what I'm studying. I could get an internship at my old job, but it'd be focused on business and marketing. I'll ask if they have a specific program that could be different than the usual internship that they have, but I doubt it because I feel like I would have seen someone or at least heard about it.
I always hear adults (even though I'm technically an adult, but I don't feel like one) say, "life has a way of working itself out", but I'm still stressed because I don't know what's going to happen to me after school. That's why I'm stressing over an internship because apparently a degree isn't enough and companies are greedy and want me to have experience even though I was just at school for my entire life. I like to think I won't just take the first job thrown at me, but I feel like I will if it's good enough. Even if it's not my ideal job, I can get some kind of knowledge or experience from it. But I'm freakin out man. Hopefully everything falls into place eventually.
You scared of the future yet?

Just Singin
I think it's a known fact that if you are even remotely happy, you'll sing in the shower or the car or just basically when you're alone and no one can hear you. You're probably wondering, well what songs do you sing when you're alone. That's a great question and I will tell you. My music taste is very weird because I like a lot of different genres, but I mainly listen to hip hop/rap. The weird part is that I can only listen to hip hop/rap through headphones when I'm walking or if I'm at home. I can't listen to it in the car anymore because then I get sick of listening to the same playlist. I have a compromise though. In the car, I listen to my "classics" playlist and that's basically a lot of rock/old 2000's songs. And I jam. Oh do I jam.
If there was one song that I had to sing word for word, it'd be Piano Man - Billy Joel. If that song comes on in a bar and there's karaoke, I'm in, I'm so in. I'll grab my friends and we'll all sing it. It's an absolute classic and everyone knows it.
I will also sing just about any song off "Graduation"- Kanye West. I know basically every song on that album.
What's your go to karaoke song?

Today...has been a day
So let's just start off with the fact that as soon as I woke up, my dog pissed on my brand new shoes. That's how my day started. I cleaned that up and threw the shoes in the washing machine because maybe that'll do something? I then go to make some breakfast and I was feeling like an egg sandwich that day. Got 2 eggs, cooked both of them. Went to get bread...out of bread. So I was just sitting there, eating 2 plain eggs, like a psychopath.
I go to start my car, nope. Doesn't work. I have to get my dad to drive me to school which is a 45 minute drive by the way. Apparently my car battery died, so I gotta get a new one of those and they're like $150-$200. Sick. Love it.
After I get to school, I'm so late it's just a joke at this point. I can't find a parking spot because that'd be nice and nice things to don't happen to me. I finally find one angel to leave at the exact time that I am passing by, but the parking spot was made for an RC car. The 2 people that parked beside this spot just had no care for other human beings that day. I squeeze my car to fit in this spot, I can barely open my driver's side door to get out. I walk/run to class (not like a full run, but I've got some pace) and I get to the classroom and..."Hi class, sorry I'm going to have to cancel today because I have a doctor's appointment, continue your reading, see you Wednesday."
I nearly had an aneurysm right then and there.

Favorite Animal
This blog post could be a trip to the zoo, but all my recent zoo visits just make me sad because the animals are locked up and what not. When I was younger, I was very hyped to go to the zoo. Zoos are fun and cool just to see animals, but if the animal was captured and taken out of the wild to be in a zoo, then it's not cool. I've seen zoos where they only have animals that couldn't survive in the wild because they're sick with something or they have been raised in captivity since they were babies. Those I'm fine with, but taking a lion from the Savannah ain't cool.
Most people's favorite animals are these exotic, crazy, barely seen animals or, a boring, basic person will just go "I love dogs, so I guess my favorite animal is a dog." Exotic animals are cool, I like them, not trying to bash on exotic animals or dog lovers. Maybe a little bit on crazy dog lovers, but my favorite animal is a raccoon. I just like their faces. They're little bandits of the night. They're such careful animals (except on the road, then they're dumb), but they have a stereotype of being these dirty, gross, rabid animals, when in reality, they just want your garbage.
A positive about my favorite animal being a raccoon, is that I get to see my favorite animal all the time and my reaction is always the same. I'll be driving and see a little thieve's face and just go "OH MY GOD RACCOON." I get really happy when I see them. There is a down side to me loving raccoons and that is, if I ever see one in the wild, I'm gonna try to touch it. Like you couldn't stop me. Because they look like fat cats and they look very worthy of a good petting, but I think they'd be scared to death and run or if they are sick, they would try to attack me. No success so far because I haven't been in a situation where I could touch one, but I will keep you updated with my raccoon quest. Just in case you need some happiness in your life, I'll include pictures and links to videos.

3 Least Favorite Classes This Semester
3. Audio and Radio Production
It's semi interesting, but it's 2 hours and 40 minutes long. I can't do anything for that long let alone try to pay attention to one thing. The professor is really cool and down to earth, but the class is just too long. We're there from 6:00-8:40 and maybe it's just because it's fairly late at night I hate it, but I'm always up late so I think it's just too long of a class. It may only be once a week and it may be an easy A, but I can't even sit still for more than like 30 minutes.
2. Spanish
Need I say more? It's mainly the professor I think. I had her last semester for Spanish 1 and she was great, so I took her again for Spanish 2 and she is the opposite of great. Maybe it's just the upgrade from Spanish 1 to Spanish 2, because Spanish 1 is an introductory course and since I took Spanish before, I knew a lot of it and it was fairly easy. Now, first day of Spanish 2, she comes busting through the door speaking full sentences in Spanish and everyone in the class, including me, didn't seem to like that. She's a very nice person, but she just can't teach Spanish at a higher level.
1. Media Writing. Nah kidding it's Diversity and Equity in Schools. (Anthropology)
It's the most boring class I've ever take in my entire life. It's basically the professor being like, "you know how there's different races of people and different upbringings?", and we're like "...yeah?", and she's like, "every race behaves differently". Wow would have never guessed that thanks prof. Some of the topics are interesting, but overall I'd rather be anywhere else...even Media Writing (haha). On a lighter note, the professor is very nice and knowledgeable, but every time I walk into that class I just wanna turn right around. AND THEN she has us read like 15-20 pages articles about some school I don't care about that did a social experiment or whatever. Like why is this a required class for a Communications Major, or any major for that matter. I'm probably just salty that it's the most work, but I mean it really is boring. Rant over.

3 foods I couldn't live without
3. Peanut Butter
I feel bad for the people that can't have peanut butter because they're allergic, but I honestly feel like it's worth the risk of dying. I have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich every day. It's a good midnight snack, lunch, dinner, breakfast, you name it.
2. Kit Kats
I'm not a chocolate lover, but Kit Kats are fantastic. Even the sound they make when you eat one is great. A crunchy, satisfying bite and they're made in perfect little sticks. Anyone that eats the Kit Kats as one big bite, is a monster and should put on a watch list.
Chips and salsa is great snack and it's semi healthy because it had tomatoes in it, or at least that's what I tell myself. A timeless snack at Super Bowl parties and a great snack for just whenever. If you don't like spicy food, just get "mild" salsa, it's good too. Personally, I go with "medium", I like a little kick.

Snow Day
Almost every Wednesday for the past 3 weeks, we've gotten snow, and a lot of it. We got snow the Wednesday before spring break and now the Wednesday after spring break. I haven't had my Wednesday classes in 3 weeks and it's been amazing. I'm missing Spanish and Philosophy, I like philosophy, but Spanish I could go without.
The next time I have my Wednesday class it's going to feel like a year. What would be great, is if Thursday classes are cancelled too because I don't classes on Fridays so the weekend would start early for me. Also Thursday is my longest day so I would be ecstatic if Thursday classes were either cancelled or delayed.
Hopefully missing all these classes won't affect how much work the class has.
I always love the snow until I remember I gotta shovel it, but now I'm pretty sick of it overall. I just want it to nice enough to go outside and I'll be happy.
Snow...bad or good?

Peanut Butter
I don't think I would survive without peanut butter. I have peanut butter almost every day. At night I make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Some people like nutella or marshmallow fluff, but the original peanut butter and jelly is just too good.
It's easy to make, it's fairly healthy because it's got fruit in it. Well at least, that's what I tell myself. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are just a cheap, easy way to get a full meal. It's very filling for me because I put way too much peanut butter. The ratio from peanut butter to jelly is 3:1 for me. I've seen some people just put peanut butter on bread and eat that. Gross. That's a dry sandwich if I've ever seen one. You need the jelly in order to not choke and die from the peanut butter sticking to your mouth.
I am also a fan of peanut butter and banana sandwiches. I feel like fruit in general with peanut butter would be pretty good. I can't think of a fruit that wouldn't be good with it because all fruit is sweet and peanut butter is like sweet and salty, so together it's just a good combo.
What do you like with peanut butter? Do you not like peanut butter? If you don't have an allergy and don't like it, what else is wrong with you?

Why So Cereous
Plenty of good cereals out there, but as a kid, you always want the sugariest ones. Cookie Crisp, literal cookies and milk, passed as breakfast cereal. When I was a kid, my favorite cereal was that Oreo cereal. I don't think it's made anymore because it was just a bowl of Oreos with some marshmallows in it. I don't even think there was any kind of requirement for cereal when I was a kid. Everyone was just okay with the unhealthiest possible cereal.
As you get older, you start liking the cereals that weren't your favorite when you were a kid. My favorite cereal as of today is Honey Nut Cheerios. Just an overall, good cereal. Has a lot of flavor and isn't unhealthy. Apparently it can help with like heart disease or heart health too because they always advertise that on the box. I highly doubt that, but I feel like they know that I can't disprove them so they just put that on there.
I used to love Cinnamon Toast Crunch and now I hate it. It's too sugary and the milk afterwards is gross. It's full of cinnamon sugar and it just tastes like I'm gonna regret it later on in life when I have to give myself insulin.
